A Win Is a Win. And Defense Wins — March 8, 2020: NY 96 Detroit 84

The 20-44 Knicks showed themselves to be a better team than the 20-45 Detroit Pistons in this Sunday night game at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks were up by 1 after 3 quarters, then laid down a stifling defense in the fourth quarter to take the game.

Julius Randle carried the Knicks down the stretch, finishing with 22 points on 7-14 shooting (7-9 free throws), 12 rebounds, and 3 steals. Elfrid Payton had 16 pts (7-11 shooting), 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.

And Mitchell Robinson had 14 pts on 5-6 shooting, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in 27 minutes.

RJ Barrett had 12 points and Frank Ntilikina 7 pts. For Detroit, Christian Wood led all of their scorers with 22 points.
